In celebration of the 2012 Chinese New Year, and the Year of the Dragon, and in celebration of the CIE being named the CONFUCIUS INSTITUTE OF THE YEAR, the Confucius Institute in Edmonton has invited the Central China Normal University Performing Arts Troupe, to put on a Gala performance for the citizens of Edmonton. The performance will be given at the Eva O Howard Theatre on the evening of February 11. We welcome you to come and experience this world class performance of Chinese cultural arts. In celebration of the coming performances in Edmonton of the Mei Lanfang Beijing Opera, the foremost troupe in this discipline, The Confucius Institute is proud to host an exhibition of the work of QI Qingnai, a master artist now living in the Edmonton area, who has produced many works capturing the spirit and intent of Beijing Opera.
